THE FIRM / METHODOLOGY
How the work gets done.
The operating model — the long-arc brand strategy, the category design, the performance advertising, the marketing analytics, the brand reputation — and the cadence that sustains it.
THE FIVE PHASES
A documented, repeatable operating model.
01
4–6 weeks
Diagnostic
A 4–6 week diagnostic. The brand equity is mapped, the press posture is mapped, the analyst posture is mapped, the buyer posture is mapped. The output is a one-page operating report: the brand’s current state, the gap to the target state, and the operating moves that close the gap.
02
6–10 weeks
Strategy
A 6–10 week strategy. The position, the narrative, the cadence, the proof, the reference list, the press list, the analyst list, the buyer list. The output is a 40–60 page document — the strategy book — that becomes the operating document for the next 36–60 months.
03
10–14 weeks
Build
A 10–14 week build. The strategy is operationalized: the press list is built, the analyst list is built, the buyer list is built, the reference cadence is built, the press cadence is built, the analyst cadence is built. The output is a working operating system — the brand is producing on a steady cadence.
04
6 months
Launch
A 6-month launch. The press cycle, the analyst cycle, the buyer cycle are aligned, the cadence is producing, the brand is compounding. The output is a launched brand — a category voice, a category authority, and the operating cadence that sustains both.
05
36–60 months
Steward
A 36–60 month steward. The cadence is held, the position is held, the equity is compounding. The output is a category leader — a brand that the category is going to remember for the next decade, and an operating system that the next CMO inherits.
PRINCIPLES
What we work by.
PRINCIPLE 01
The long arc is the work
A brand is a 3–5 year commitment to a position, a narrative, and an operating cadence. The 3–5 year commitment is what produces the equity; the 1-year program is what produces the placements. The work is the commitment.
PRINCIPLE 02
The cadence is the brand
The brand is not the logo, the brand is the cadence. The cadence is the press list, the cadence is the analyst list, the cadence is the reference list. The cadence is the work; the cadence is the brand.
PRINCIPLE 03
The buyer is the proof
The buyer is the proof. The buyer’s recognition of the category, the buyer’s adoption of the category leader, the buyer’s willingness to pay the category price — that is the brand. The proof is upstream of the press; the press is upstream of the analyst.
PRINCIPLE 04
The cadence is owner-driven
The cadence is owner-driven, not agency-driven. The CEO is the owner of the long arc; the CMO is the operator of the cadence; the agency is the executor of the cadence. A brand that puts the agency in charge of the cadence is a brand that does not compound.
